Virtual Special Populations Academy
Target Audience: All Teachers Dates, Time, and Location: May 27 -June 7, 2020 Virtual/Online Cost: Free Description: CISD will be kicking off the summer in a comfortable, healthy, and happy virtual "SPA" like atmosphere, as we recognize and celebrate individuality, uniqueness, and excellence through our "You be You" theme. The Special Populations Academy will bring together Bilingual Education, Gifted and Talented, ESL, Special Education, Dyslexia and Technology in the classroom. Get ready to soak in the best teaching and learning strategies for ALL! The Special Populations Academy is scheduled May 27 - June 7. Dr. José Medina and Jacinto Ramos will help us kick off this exciting event! We are providing 40 virtual/live and Virtual Live Online hours of professional learning sessions throughout the day and "Spa" like optional sessions in the afternoon where participants will get mentally and physically pampered. Prizes will be raffled off throughout the week!!! * Credit will be given based on how many sessions you complete. No more than 12 hours of FLEX Credit can be given. CPE will be given based on number sessions completed and you will receive full CPE Credits. Taking the GT Update portion will only grant 6 FLEX, 6 GT, and 6 CPE. |
GT 6 Hour Update/Differentiation Make & Take
Target Audience: Teachers who need 6 hour GT Update Dates, Time, and Location: June 8, 2020 9:00-4:00 Online Cost: Free Description: Educators who work with students who are considered advanced or benefiting from gifted and talented services will participate in a six hour day focused on Castleberry ISD’s vision for instruction which reflects best practices in Gifted and Talented Education. The morning session will include sessions on Texas Lesson Study Plan, Blended Learning as a Model for GT Instruction, and Cluster Grouping: A School Wide Model that Improves Instruction for All, as well as three Future 20 rotations focused on Podcasts, Websites, and Books. In the afternoon, participants will be attend workshops demonstrating the use of technological tools educators can use to create engaging, differentiated lessons for advanced learners which tie back to the morning sessions. |

Upping Your Game - 4 Virtual Mini Sessions

Target Audience: All Teachers Dates, Time, and Location: May 27 - June 7, 2020 Online Cost: Free Description: CISD will be kicking off the summer in a comfortable, healthy, and happy virtual "SPA" like atmosphere, as we recognize and celebrate individuality, uniqueness, and excellence through our "You be You" theme. The Special Populations Academy will bring together Bilingual Education, Gifted and Talented, ESL, Special Education, Dyslexia and Technology in the classroom. Get ready to soak in the best teaching and learning strategies for ALL! The Special Populations Academy is scheduled May 27 - June 7. Dr. José Medina and Jacinto Ramos will help us kick off this exciting event! We are providing 40 virtual/live and Virtual Live Online hours of professional learning sessions throughout the day and "Spa" like optional sessions in the afternoon where participants will get mentally and physically pampered. Prizes will be raffled off throughout the week!!! * Credit will be given based on how many sessions you complete. No more than 12 hours of FLEX Credit can be given.
