Cyber Security Training
In the 86th Legislative Session the Texas House of Representatives passed a bill requiring that any Castleberry ISD employee who uses a computer for more than 25% of their job duties must complete an annual mandatory cybersecurity training provided by the district. To show employee compliance, the district must report the employee completion to the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
HB3834, Sec. 2054.5191. CYBERSECURITY TRAINING REQUIRED: CERTAIN EMPLOYEES.
(a) Each state agency shall identify state employees who use a computer to complete at least 25 percent of the employee's required duties. At least once each year, an employee identified by the state agency and each elected or appointed officer of the agency shall complete a cybersecurity training program certified under Section 2054.519.
All CISD administrators, board members, teachers, professional staff, and most paraprofessional/paraeducator staff must complete this 30 minute online training annually. A link to the online modules will be emailed to staff during the designated training window. Upon completion, employees will receive a certificate of completion to keep for their records.
